P.H Nortje, one of South Africa's acclaimed authors, was born in this areaand his epics "Voetpad se Kloof" and "Die Wildedruif Val" are dedicated to the life and struggle of the people of the kloof. Look out for PH Nortje’s house, on the way to Sederkloof Post Office.
On Studtis Olive Estate itself, the old police station and cells can be seen. The old Tobacco shed which was used fordrying tobacco leaves can also be found on Studtis Olive Estate.
